Skin Rejuvenation Treatments

There are many different ways to combat aging skin. Some are more effective than others, and some are certainly more expensive. Are you well informed about these different procedures?

The first thing you should know is that there isn’t one fix all solution to skin problems. At different points in an individual’s life, different treatments might be more effective. Also, some people may not respond positively to one set of treatments and get great results from another, so it’s important to have a knowledge about all of them.

Topical Treatments

You have definitely encountered these kinds of solutions before in some form or another. Topical Treatments can be any kind of skin rejuvenation treatment that is cream or gel formed and promises a miracle cure. These can include wrinkle creams and lifting gels.

Most of these topical cures are not FDA approved, which means they don’t have to be adequately tested before being rushed out into the market. This also means that not only do you run the risk of the product not working, you also are putting your skin at great risk from harmful side effects.

Worth noting, not all of them are bogus, and over a period of time certain products can help maintain a more youthful appearance of the skin. But as for removing wrinkles and sun spots, you’re better off going with a clinically tested procedure.

Wrinkle Filler Skin Rejuvenation Treatments

These types of treatments are used to correct facial defects. Unlike topical creams, wrinkle fillers are most often given by injection, while some even require an incision. Prior to noninvasive procedures this sort of solution was ideal for many patients because it avoids the need for surgery.

Even though some wrinkle filler have been around for many years, the one’s most frequently used today are still relatively new. This means any long term defect or potentially harmful side effects may still be unknown for many of these injections.

Invasive Skin Rejuvenation Treatments

When severe work needs to be done, many people flock towards the invasive procedures for skin rejuvenation. These procedures usually have longer recovery times and also higher costs because they are similar to surgery. Procedures can include:

• Liposuction
• Face lifts
• Rhytidectomy
• Blepharoplasty
• Ablative laser resurfacing

Keep in mind that these invasive procedures can have unwanted side effects. For example, it’s been proven that some forms of plastic surgery may actually accelerate the aging of skin. Make sure the procedure is accredited by the AAAASF (American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities) to make sure it’s safe.

Noninvasive Skin Rejuvenation Treatments

For those who want to improve the appearance of their skin and want to avoid invasive procedures or surgical methods, there are non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatments. These so far appear to be the safest and most effective methods. The only downside to noninvasive skin rejuvenation treatments is that they usually cannot produce dramatic results, such as relieving deep wrinkles.
